Our Year 9 students took part in a ‘Gift in a Box’ design competition during lockdown. The standard of work was incredibly high and we were very impressed with the work students did.

As we are coming into ‘Mental Health Awareness Week’, we are being encouraged by the Mental Health Foundation to look to Nature.
In the Art Department, Year 8 have been exploring Loui Jover inspired collages using mixed media, with the project based on their idol. Loui Jover himself actually spotted these projects on our St Aidan’s social media, liked and commented on them! Fantastic work and wonderful for our students to hear feedback from the artist himself!
The sound of Chamber Choir could be heard outside school once again last night. Students gathered socially distanced on the grass near to Constance Green Hall. How wonderful to hear voices raised in song again!
Start The Music is a scheme that aims to encourage more young people to learn a musical instrument. Each year we fund approximately 6 students from St Aidan’s to play an instrument for a full academic year. Applications for 2021 are now open. Click here for further information and how to apply.
The sounds of Year 7 and 8 ensemble musicians can be heard again in school this week!
It was so wonderful to see the Extra Curricular Summer Sports taking place after school yesterday. Athletics, Rounders, Cricket and Tennis were all back for Year 7 to enjoy last night in the afternoon sunshine. Glorious!

After a long absence we are delighted to announce the return of live, ‘in-person’ music-making at St Aidan’s in a measured way from Monday 19th April.
Years 7, 8 and 9 have enjoyed Interform in the sunshine this week! Year 7 girls have enjoyed football on the astro pitches, Year 8 and 9 girls have competed in Hockey tournaments, whilst Year 7, 8 and 9 boys have battled it out in Interform Basketball!
