Chamber Choir Concert
St Aidan’s Chamber Choir performed at St James’ Church in Birstwith last Friday. Thank you to the wonderful audience who enjoyed musical delights from the choir and soloists alike!
Start the Music Scheme
Start the Music was set up in 2019 and is a project within St Aidan’s Music Association, open to Key Stage 3 students, Years 7 to 9.
North East Festival of Youth Choirs and Junior Music Residential
St Aidan’s musicians have had a joyfully busy weekend with the North East Festival of Youth Choirs and the Junior Music Residential coinciding on the same day this year!
Jazz Night
On Saturday 8th February 2020, St Aidan’s School will be hosting a Jazz Night in Constance Green Hall, from 7.30pm. There will be performances from Swing Band, SAJE, Girls’ Choir, Year 9 Dancers and BSB (Beyond Swing Band – St Aidan’s Alumni).
Sixth Form Musical Achievement
Year 12 student, Niamh Robinson Wakefield performed at the Royal Albert Hall last month as a backing soprano for Katherine Jenkins – a fantastic achievement and experience.

Nine Lessons and Carols at Christ Church
Last night we had a wonderful traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols at Christ Church with many staff, students and families in attendance. This was a very special way to celebrate Christmas and join together in worship and song.
Light Up a Life
St Aidan’s performed ‘Light Up a Life’ this weekend at St Michael’s Hospice. This is a special service to help celebrate the lives of loved ones who are no longer with us, but who remain in our thoughts, especially at this time of year.
Christmas Event at Rudding Gates, Follifoot
Yesterday afternoon our Brass Ensemble performed and led carols at Rudding Gates, Follifoot for Follifoot Primary School. This was a wonderful Christmas event for the community to enjoy.
In Dulci Jubilo – Christmas Concert
On Sunday 8th December Chamber Choir performed with Vocalis at St Wilfrid’s Church, Harrogate. This was a fantastic event and a great way to start the festive season.
Community Concert at Aldborough Church
With the final strains of We Will Rock You still ringing in their ears almost, 80 St Aidan’s musicians in the shape of the Chamber Choir and the Symphonic Wind Band journeyed the 13 miles out to Aldborough, near Boroughbridge to give a concert of popular band and choral music on Thursday 28th November.
Student Pianist Success
Krish Desha-Beerachee, Year 8 student, performed at the Wharfedale Festival of Performing Arts Piano Festival which took place at Christchurch, Ilkley from 15th-17th October, where he was also invited to perform at the final concert on the 18th October.
Autumn Senior Concert
On Thursday 24th October, St Aidan’s enjoyed a fantastic musical evening – the Autumn Senior Concert. There were wonderful performances from Swing Band, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Girls’ Choir and Chamber Choir.
Autumn Senior Concert
Our Autumn Senior Music Concert will take place on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm in Constance Green Hall. Come along and enjoy performances from Swing Band, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Girls’ Choir and Chamber Choir. Tickets are £6 (£3 concession) each and are available from Reception or on the door.
