Over 100 students in Year 7, 8 and 9 have been rehearsing hard for the past few weeks, to put on this year’s Spotlight performance.
During the last part of term in the Art department, Year 8 students have been working on clay sculptures inspired by African masks.
Once again, another year of Interform competitions have come to an end and once again the students have been brilliant in their engagement and efforts towards the various sporting events.
Interform Sports continue this week, with the Year 8 students participating in Field Events yesterday afternoon

The Year 8 Girls Football Team played their first match on Monday 21st June at St John Fisher.
The Year 8 CILP Carnegie Awards shadowing group gathered on Wednesday 16th June 2021 to watch the awards live on the official website screened from the British Library.
For Spotlight this year, we have been in search of creative writers in Key Stage 3 to write poems to be performed as Spotlight Drama pieces.
On Monday 4th June, 24 Year 8 students went to St John Fisher to play their first school Football match since last March.
On Saturday 12th June, the Dickson family, George, Year 13, Carys, Year 11 and Elena, Year 8, climbed the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for Frank’s Fund.

In the Art Department, Year 8 have been exploring Loui Jover inspired collages using mixed media, with the project based on their idol. Loui Jover himself actually spotted these projects on our St Aidan’s social media, liked and commented on them! Fantastic work and wonderful for our students to hear feedback from the artist himself!
Start The Music is a scheme that aims to encourage more young people to learn a musical instrument. Each year we fund approximately 6 students from St Aidan’s to play an instrument for a full academic year. Applications for 2021 are now open. Click here for further information and how to apply.
