Residential Trip from Monday 2nd March 2020 to Saturday 28th March 2020

In March pupils have the opportunity to go on a 7 day residential course to Loch Eil in Scotland based in a centre close to the foot of Ben Nevis. This is regarded as one of the most challenging and rewarding activity courses, which should appeal to anyone who has an interest in the outdoors. Great emphasis is put on the personal development and confidence building aspect of the activities that are undertaken.

Salamanca

Residential Trip from Sunday 21st June 2020 to Friday 26th June 2020

For Year 10 students studying GCSE Spanish there is a visit in February to a language school in Salamanca with four hours of Spanish tuition each day. Students will stay with host families in pairs or threes on a full board basis. There are organised activities such as a tour of the City, a salsa dance class and a trip to the nearby mountains.

Cologne

Residential Trip from Sunday 21st June 2020 to Friday 26th June 2020

In June there is a trip to Cologne in Germany for students in Years 10 and 12 with a visit to a language school with four hours of German tuition each day. Students will stay in a hostel with organised activities which will give a real taste of German life, including visiting a chocolate factory, a science museum and a tour of the city.

Nice

Residential Trip from Monday 22nd June 2020 to Saturday 27th June 2020

Year 10 Language students are given the opportunity to study at the renowned France Langue Language School in Nice. Not only is this trip intended to offer extra assistance to those taking

the GCSE exam, but it also offers children the opportunity to experience French culture first hand.

During the week, students will have intensive classes taught by talented and inspiring native speakers whilst enjoying the hospitality of a typical French host family. Classes will run for 4 days with 3.5 hours tuition per day.

Nice, the Queen of the Riviera, is a beautiful city and is one of the best known in France. Students will be allowed limited supervised free time for relaxation and shopping and excursions to Monte Carlo and the medieval town of Eze.

The Bronze DofE involves: Volunteering (helping the community); Skill (a hobby, skill or interest); Physical (sports, dance, fitness); Expeditions (on foot, cycle, horseback, or water).
