Bursary Applications

The 16-19 Bursary Fund

If you are aged between 16-19 years and have applied for the Sixth Form at St. Aidan’s but think you might struggle with costs for education, including travel costs, you may be eligible for a 16-19 Bursary Fund.  Bursaries are Government funds made available to students for whom financial difficulties might present a serious obstacle to participation in education.

Students who are in a defined vulnerable group and have a financial need can apply for a bursary. In addition, if your total household income is less than £25,000, bursaries may also be awarded to students, at the discretion of the school.

All bursary payments are subject to attendance and compliance with the standards of behaviour and effort as agreed at the start of your learning programme (detailed in the Sixth Form Student Planner). If your application is successful, payments (either in kind, such as vouchers, bus passes or a credit to your bank account) will be made regularly as determined by each student’s individual need.

To view your eligibility and conditions of funding, please refer to our 2023/24 Bursary Policy below.  Application forms and claim forms are also available below.
