Rehearsals

There will be rehearsals for St Aidan’s students who will be performing at these Jubilee Events in the coming weeks. The main rehearsal schedule will be published later this week.

Community Choir and Orchestra

The Community Choir is open to all with any connection with St Aidan’s, past or present (or future!). Its programme this time will include, among other items, Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus and Dan Forrest’s inspiring setting of And Can It Be, both accompanied by full orchestra. We would also be glad to hear from anyone who would like to play in the orchestra for this. The choir and orchestra will also take part in the grand finale, a new piece by celebrated composer and St Aidan’s parent, Kit Turnbull, called ‘The Turning of the Tide’, all about St Aidan’s journey from Iona to Lindisfarne and involving massed instrumental and choral forces! Rehearsals will be as follows:

Tuesday 2nd April – 7.30-9.30, Choir rehearsal in St Aidan’s Main School Hall

Tuesday 9th April – 7.30-9.30, Choir rehearsal in St Aidan’s Main School Hall

Tuesday 30th April – 7.30-9.30, Choir and Orchestra rehearsal in St Aidan’s Main School Hall

Saturday 4th May – Final rehearsal, afternoon (exact time to be confirmed).

If you would like to sing or play, please e-mail music@staidans.co.uk with ‘Community Choir’ as the subject. All music will be provided. No choral experience necessary!
