GCSE Results

St Aidan’s is delighted to report that there were many very happy faces in Constance Green Hall when students received their GCSE grades in August.  Worries over the new specifications in English and Maths and a new grading system of 9-1 in those subjects gave way to joy as they celebrated their successes.  Given the changes within the examination structure, we would not wish to make a direct comparison between this year’s results and last but what we can say is that the results at St Aidan’s were outstanding both in terms of attainment and progress.

91% of all our entries gained A*/C or 9-4 and 47% were A/A* or 9-7. Our English and Maths results were also outstanding with 89% of our students obtaining a 4 or better in both subjects. 50% of English results achieved a 9-7 grade and 44% of maths were a 9-7 also.  These superb results place St. Aidan’s as one of the highest performing non-selective comprehensive schools in the country

We congratulate every student on his or her effort and achievement but also recognise the continued efforts, professionalism and commitment of their teachers.  We wish all of our students every success as they continue their journey into the Sixth Form, College or apprenticeship.
