Personal development - The St. Aidan's Offer

Personal development and the well-being of all students at St. Aidan’s is a high priority. Our students flourish because of the quality care, nurture and education they receive here at St. Aidan’s. Our Personal Development Programme is called The St. Aidan’s Offer. The St. Aidan’s Offer is a carefully constructed programme of education and opportunities which support the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of all our students from years 7 to 13.

The St. Aidan’s Offer is divided into four pillars, each one contributing to the development of our students’ character, resilience, knowledge, and well-being. All students gain a deep understanding of the fundamental British values, as well as being prepared and supported to progress in education, employment or training through the work they do in Careers Education and their PSHE curriculum delivered as the first pillar of The St. Aidan’s Offer. The St. Aidan’s Offer promotes a sense of enjoyment and fascination in learning about themselves and others in the world around them, and nurtures interests allowing all students to participate in artistic, musical, sporting and cultural opportunities. As a Church of England school, our St. Aidan’s Offer compliments the wider Christian ethos of the school and develops the students’ ability to be reflective about their own beliefs and perspective on life including developing their knowledge of, and respect for, different people’s faiths, feelings and values.

The St. Aidan’s personal development programme is a strong feature of the school which has been embedded over the years. We offer a broad and balanced range of activities designed to be an entitlement for every pupil. The opportunities afforded to pupils are designed to meet their needs and aspirations including disadvantaged students and those with SEND. Our aim is for students to attend extracurricular clubs and feel welcome, valued and respected so that they feel like they belong to the school community. The range of activities in the extracurricular programme and educational visits is carefully planned so that opportunities are enriching and accessible.

The St. Aidan’s Offer prepares our students for life beyond school.
