Subject based Residential Trips

These visits are offered at post 16 mostly where there are opportunities for subjects to bring their curriculum "alive" so that students can see and experience first hand the wonders of their learning.

The Geography department have an annual trip to Iceland to experience the array of physical features in this amazing country. Science visit Cern in Switzerland, one of the world’s renowned science research facilities. There are Language trips to Spain, France and Germany as students are given the opportunity to refine their oracy skills and, in some instances, gain valuable learning in language schools and work experience.  London is a popular destination for many subjects to take advantage of the rich heritage and diversity that the capital city has to offer. Art and Textiles have a joint trip where the array of galleries, workshops and practical opportunities provide an inspiring and creative environment for our students to thrive. Politics, History, Economics and Psychology also experience the varied opportunities offered. The trips enable students to connect classroom learning with real-world experience as well as fostering personal qualities such as independence and confidence. Additionally, the English department have a Creative Writing residential trip to Wales and Music run a popular annual European music tour.
