School Improvement and Partnerships
As the founding member of Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust in 2015 we are deeply committed to collaboration and improvement, that is driven by a desire to ensure that we are playing our part in a school system that enables all to flourish.
We are guided the bible verse of -
John 10:10
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full."
And, by our vision of -
Living and learning according to our Church foundation and the example of St Aidan, we strive to be a centre of academic excellence where all our students flourish because of the quality care, nurture, and education they are given.
Our students will develop in character to become courageous and confident. They will be brave enough to see the opportunities in every difficulty, and wise enough to promote respect and kindness through the choices they make. Guided by our Christian vision we walk together to ensure that each and everyone knows the gift of life in all its fullness.
And our values of –
Wisdom, Aspiration, Learning Well Together and Kindness.
We use our vision and values along with the Yorkshire Causeway school improvement approach that is driven by the strong structures of:
- Knowing where we are going
- Enabling deep and purposeful collaboration
- Providing specialist support
- Checking how we are doing
These principles enable us to contribute to a school led system of improvement where schools support one another so everyone can flourish.
Visit the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust website for more details about the school improvement offer.
St. Aidan’s is available to support schools in many areas of school improvement and leadership. We are open to collaboration and working in partnership with others to drive improvement, evaluate progress, support schools and trusts on their journeys of improvement.
We have strengths in curriculum, behaviour, achievement, personal development, leadership and post-16 provision but can offer support in any way a school or trust may feel they need. We work with schools to tailor support in a bespoke way to meet their needs inline with their individual school development plans and priorities.
We are currently rated as a good school by Ofsted in our 2022 report. We are also rated by SIAMS as outstanding in our 2018 report.
Our outcomes are consistently strong at KS4 placing us in the top performing schools in the county and we perform consistently above the national average also. Outcomes at KS5 are again consistently strong both locally and nationally performing above the national averages. Further details of our outcomes for students can be found on the DfE website.
