Welcome and About Our Sixth Form

The Associated Sixth Form was established in 1973 through a unique partnership between St Aidan’s and St John Fisher schools. Guided by our shared vision statements, “Life in all its Fullness” and “Educating for Life”, we are committed to supporting young people to grow not only academically, but personally as well.

Our aim is to provide an outstanding all round education that helps students develop into confident, well rounded individuals. Within our caring community, rooted in shared goals and Christian values, students are encouraged to pursue their own aspirations and to be the very best version of themselves.

This long standing partnership allows us to offer an exceptional range of opportunities. With more than 40 Level 3 courses available, students benefit from a breadth of choice rarely found in school based sixth forms. Our programmes prepare students for apprenticeships, leading universities and a wide range of fulfilling career pathways.

We are extremely proud of our students, particularly the progress each individual makes during their time with us. We believe that success is built on students feeling happy, valued and supported. Creating a safe, welcoming and encouraging environment is at the heart of everything we do.

Our strong reputation is founded on excellent teaching, outstanding pastoral care and a wide ranging enrichment programme. Students are encouraged to get involved in sport, performing arts, fundraising and opportunities to serve the wider community. Our dedicated staff are passionate about working with young adults and provide personalised guidance and support, enabling every student to flourish and reach their full potential.

Each year we welcome students not only from St Aidan’s and St John Fisher, but from over 30 different schools. This diverse intake brings fresh perspectives and enriches the experience of everyone in our community. For many students, the Sixth Form offers a valuable fresh start as they prepare for their next steps.

Throughout their Sixth Form journey, we are here to support students in achieving their goals. When they leave us, our students do so with confidence, compassion, strong qualifications and a clear sense of faith and purpose. They are ready to make a positive contribution to society and to be a genuine force for good in the world.
