Recent Achievements

At St. Aidan's, we are proud of the dedication and achievements within our school community.

Below are just some of the recent highlights we are pleased to celebrate together:

• Ranked 24th in the Top 200 Sporting Schools of 2025, recognising our thriving and diverse sports programme.
• KS4 Squash Team crowned National Champions at Edgbaston Priory Squash Club.
• Named Lead Music School for North Yorkshire (South) by the county’s music hub ‘Y Music’, recognising St. Aidan’s as a centre of excellence in music education and teacher development.
• Physics and Chemistry Olympiads (Year 12 and 13): Exceptional performance in some of the UK’s toughest and most selective science competitions, with students earning Top Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. Levels achieved by only a small percentage of entrants nationwide.
• UKMT Maths Challenge: 107 A level students took part, with 65% achieving a certificate. Several Year 12 and 13 students earned Gold, placing them in the top 11% nationally.
• The Debating Society: Record success in national competitions, winning the ESU Mace North East Regional Championship in 2025 and competing in the national finals among the top twelve debating teams in the country.
