Specialist and SEND Provision

The transition years from secondary education to adulthood raises new challenges and opportunities for most students. However, for our students with SEND, this transition may require additional preparation over a longer period than for many.

Parents and carers may have been thinking about the future for some time. It is never too early to start discussing the hopes and aspirations for the student in your care and working towards intended outcomes that are set in line with their goals and aspirations for the future.

The Careers Department are keen to work in partnership with parents/carers, specialist employment and training providers and the wider school community in supporting our SEND students to understand what career options are available and assist them to become successful young adults who are developing their future in the way they want to live.  We aim to provide careers guidance which is differentiated, as appropriate, and based on high aspirations and a personalised approach.  We work closely with the SENDCo and other staff to support learners understand different study and career pathways and how to develop the necessary skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications to succeed and fulfil their potential.
