Student Support

Sixth Form students at St. Aidan’s benefit from a strong, well‑established support system designed to guide, encourage and shape their Sixth Form experience, while confidently preparing them for the future.

We are deeply committed to nurturing every student as an individual and providing the guidance, encouragement and care they need to flourish throughout Year 12 and Year 13. All students are supported to develop the skills, independence and confidence needed to enrich both their own lives and the wider society in which they live.

Throughout their time with us, students are supported by a dedicated Sixth Form team. This includes administration and attendance staff, Careers Advisers, a Post‑16 Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer, a counsellor, a Head of Year, a non‑teaching Assistant Head of Year and Form Tutors. Together, this team works closely to ensure students feel supported, listened to and valued every step of the way.

Within the context of a large and thriving Sixth Form community, we pride ourselves on offering personalised, individual support. We work proactively to support student wellbeing and help remove any barriers to learning. We firmly believe that young people achieve their best when they feel happy, supported and valued. Every student belongs to a form group and is supported by a Form Tutor who meets them daily and provides regular one‑to‑one check‑ins throughout the year. This ensures that students are well known, encouraged and guided both academically and personally.

Our Sixth Form community is built on respect, kindness and care, creating an environment in which students can flourish. Whether helping students navigate new challenges, build resilience, or simply ensuring they feel known and supported, our dedicated team is here every step of the way. We are proud to support every young person as they grow in confidence and leave St Aidan’s equipped to step into their future with resilience, positivity and purpose.
