Art and Textiles Trip to London

Fine Art

Fine Artists and Photographers have the opportunity in Year 12 to visit London, the Arts cultural centre of our country.  Students will visit UCL, one of the highest-ranking Arts universities in the country, getting a flavour of university life and partaking in a practical workshop.  They will visit a number of galleries, developing their cultural and contextual understanding used to inform their personal study.  Visiting a range of galleries and embracing artist work firsthand will inform and inspire development of practical ideas for their personal investigation. On the first evening they will also visit the theatre, a fantastic way to end day one by sparking their imagination and improving communication skills by exposing them to diverse stories, characters, and perspectives in a focused, real-time setting.

Students will complete tasks encouraging them to interact with their surroundings and developing their recording skills of their experience.

Textiles

Our Year 12 Fashion & Textiles students will enjoy an inspiring overnight trip to London, exploring the heart of the UK’s fashion scene. Highlights include a visit to the V&A Museum and other leading exhibitions, browsing Soho’s iconic fabric shops, and experiencing the capital’s most famous fashion stores. Students will travel by train, stay in a central hotel, enjoy two evening meals, and round off the trip with a spectacular West End show—an unforgettable experience to spark creativity and broaden industry insight!
