Business
Proverbs 16:3
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
The Business Studies curriculum at St. Aidan’s links to our whole school curriculum intent statement. Business Studies gives students the insight, skills, and confidence to understand and shape the world they live in.
Through engaging, real-world content, students explore how businesses operate, make decisions, and influence society—developing a sense of purpose, possibility, and personal ambition. The curriculum is built around clear, progressive learning steps. Students study key concepts such as marketing, finance, operations, and ethics, learning how to analyse information, solve problems, and make informed choices. Literacy and numeracy are developed through structured tasks that reflect real business practice, ensuring students can communicate and work with precision. We encourage students to think beyond profit—to consider the role of enterprise in improving lives, creating opportunity, and acting responsibly. This reflects our Christian ethos and commitment to nurturing students who are thoughtful, ethical, and ready to make a positive contribution to society. With enrichment opportunities such as enterprise projects, guest speakers, and career pathways, Business Studies helps students see their future clearly and aim high. More than a subject, it’s a platform for students to grow in confidence, develop resilience, and build the mindset to thrive—wherever life takes them.
