Performing Arts
Matthew 5:16
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
The Performing Arts curriculum at St. Aidan’s links to our whole school curriculum intent statement. Performing Arts empowers students to grow as creative practitioners, confident communicators, and reflective individuals.
This vocational course offers a dynamic blend of practical performance, critical analysis, and industry insight—preparing students for further study and diverse creative careers. The curriculum celebrates artistic expression, independence, and resilience. Through acting, dance, musical theatre, and production work, students learn to collaborate effectively, respond to creative briefs, and develop their craft with precision and purpose. Lessons are structured to mirror real-world practice, giving students experience that’s relevant, rigorous, and professionally focused. Students engage deeply with live performance, creative development, and contextual research. They are encouraged to take risks, explore identity, and connect with wider social and cultural issues—developing both skill and perspective. Evaluation and written reflection support their growth as thoughtful, articulate artists. Grounded in our Christian ethos, the course promotes inclusion, creativity, and ambition. Performing Arts at St Aidan’s helps students discover their voice, understand their impact, and shape their future with confidence. More than a subject, it is a space where talent is nurtured, character is built, and students are supported to thrive—in the studio, on stage, and beyond.
