For the first time ever all 5 Senior Music Ensembles at St Aidan’s have qualified through their performances at the Regional Rounds to perform at the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham at the beginning of July. News arrived early this week that the Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Band, Swing Band, Chamber Choir and Causeway Brass had all been successful causing great excitement within the school. “This is a wonderful recognition for the students who give so much of their time in practices and for all the Music staff who lead these ensembles” said John Wood. Our students regularly perform in the local area for churches, charities and special events and we have obviously had the privilege of some ensembles being invited to the National Festival for many years but this is very special and we wish them well in the preparations for the performances that lie ahead as well as for the Music Tour to Lake Konstanz at the end of the A’ Level examinations.
