This week, our Sri Lankan visitors have had a wonderful time in London seeing the sites, watching a west end show (Mamma Mia!) and visiting the shops.

Sri Lankans visit to the UK
Our Sri Lankan visitors are having a fantastic time visiting their St Aidan’s exchange partners. Last week they visited the Mayor, travelled to Edinburgh and Fountains Abbey, as well as enjoying time in school with their exchange partners. They have more exciting activities planned for the week ahead!

St Aidan’s Music Association (SAMA)
If your child is in one of the many musical ensembles at St Aidan’s you are automatically a member of the St Aidan’s Music Association and we would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 15th October 2019 at 7.30 pm in the Main Hall, featuring Performances by Junior Choir and Junior Band.
Year 7 depart for Bushcraft!
Our Year 7 students departed for their first residential trip this morning! Students will be enjoying 3 days at Bushcraft, Castle Howard. We hope they have a fantastic time!

A new Table Tennis club has been started this term by our PE staff on a Thursday evening (Week A – Y7 & Y8) and (Week B Y9,10,11).

The Sri Lankan exchange students and teachers have arrived safely in Harrogate and looking forward to their stay!
Award for Sixth Former
Rhys Gannon, Year 12 student, was invited to the Raindance Film Festival this Saturday evening. The immersive VR film that he was creatively involved in ‘Cosmos Within Us’ won an Award! The film won the ‘Spirit of Raindance’ Award for the amazing innovative work involved. Congratulations to Rhys on this success.
Casting Success
Congratulations to Seb Smallwood, Year 10 student and Hannah Thompson, Year 9 student, who have recently been cast in the Leeds Playhouse Christmas production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
UCI Road World Championships
Students have enjoying some of the events this week for the UCI Road World Championships.
Sixth Form at Stray FM
Four students from the Associated Sixth Form visited Stray FM on Wednesday 25th September to record the new advert for the Sixth Form Open Events. The students were all interviewed about their experiences at school and their favourite parts of the Association. We can’t wait to hear the finished article.
