Engineering Student Awarded Prestigious National Scholarship

Year 12 student Alex Dixon has been awarded a prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship that identifies him as future leader in engineering.

Alex had to complete a rigorous selection process consisting of a detailed application form, a two hour aptitude exam and an interview hosted at a top university.  The aptitude exam tested the candidates’ on their flair and originality in solving engineering design problems.  In the final interview Alex was given the opportunity to discuss various engineering projects that he has been involved with.

The renowned Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is designed to support high-calibre young people during their A Levels by providing students with sponsorship to enhance their A Level studies and a range of activities to enhance their understanding and experience of engineering.  The scholarships are highly respected by leading universities and are supported by top engineering employers such as Rolls Royce, BT, BAE Systems, National Grid, Balfour Beatty, The Royal Air Force, and The Royal Navy.

Alex was recently presented with his certificates at a ceremony hosted at the Institution of Engineering & Technology in London.
