This is an involving and engaging vocational GCSE equivalent qualification option for students who have an interest in Health and in People; and wish to develop skills and learn the theory that can prepare them for further study and employment within this sector.
Dr Bryant – Health and Social Care Leader at GCSE
In Year 10 and 11 we offer Health and Social Care Level 1/2 Cambridge National Award. 3 units of the course (75%) are assessed through coursework.
Communicating well with clients and patients
Diseases of the heart, lungs and digestive system
Nutrition and diet
1 unit (25%) is assessed in an exam, on how clients and patients are cared for in care settings like nurseries, hospitals and care homes.

Our Health and Social Care Level 3 course is split into six units across Year 12 and Year 13. Again this is a large proportion of coursework, with final exams also assessing some parts of the course.
