Sports Presentation Evening
On Thursday 4th October we celebrated sport at St Aidan’s. The presentation evening was held for all our lower school students who have given significant contributions to sport and those who have made great improvement over the years. We were delighted to be joined by Martyn Moxon who presented the awards to all students.
North Yorkshire Cup Winners
The Year 10 Cricket team once again proved too strong for their opposition in the North Yorkshire Cup Final. The boys batted first and reached 133-4. Yorkshire Cup Winners
Congratulations to our Year 10 cricket team who won the Yorkshire Cup last week. The boys worked hard in the field and then added some fantastic batting performances, taking the team to victory! They now go on to represent Yorkshire in the national finals. A fantastic start to the sporting year at St Aidan’s.
Jess Thompson Throws 42.44m
Jess Thompson (Year 8) threw her personal best (42.44m) to win a silver medal in the javelin at the English Schools’ championships on Saturday. Congratulations Jess!
Yorkshire Cricket
We were delighted to receive the news that Jacob Fordham has been selected to play cricket for North Yorkshire and Yorkshire this season. This is a fantastic achievement and we wish you well for the forthcoming matches.
U16 Football Team Success
The U16 football team at St Aidan’s has retained the County cup for a 3rd successive year. The team beat Stokesley 4-2 away recently with goals scored by Tom Simmons, Adam Sharpe, Jack Holliday and Joseph O’ Dwyer
