Six St Aidan’s students have competed with Tewit Silver Band at the National Brass Band Finals. In order to attend, the Band had already won the Regional Championships in March 2019.

Chamber Choir had a truly memorable and moving first day on their Flanders concert tour; first of all visiting the Passchendaele Memorial Museum, Tyne Cot Cemetery, an afternoon concert in Ypres Cathedral and then singing at the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres.
St Aidan’s is at the Music for Youth National Festival at Birmingham today. We have had our first Chamber Choir and Cello performance of the day in the Festival Tent!
We celebrated 10 Years of Spotlight last night at the Royal Hall, Harrogate.

Our Summer Concert takes place next Wednesday 19th June, 7pm in Constance Green Hall. Adult tickets are £6, Children are free. Tickets can be purchased at Reception or on the door. You can enjoy performances from Junior Band, Junior Choir, SAJE, World Music Group, String Ensemble and APE. We look forward to seeing you there!

St. Aidan’s ever popular KS3 show, Spotlight, will be returning for its 10th year this summer! We will be celebrating the anniversary with a spectacular performance at the Royal Hall on Tuesday 2nd July. Please see the Music or Dance department for further information.
On Thursday 21st March, Junior Band and String Ensemble performed for a large number of primary school students in Constance Green Hall.
The launch of the Music Association’s new Start the Music Initiative, to provide free lessons and free instruments on loan to St Aidan’s students, was a great success last night!
Last week we held a wonderful Valentines Jazz Evening in Constance Green Hall.
Congratulations to Emilia Johnson and Sam Watts, Year 11 students, who have both secured places in the National Youth Band, playing Trombone and Tenor Horn. We wish them every success in this fantastic achievement.
‘Start the Music’ is a new scheme to encourage more young people to take up an instrument and play music. This scheme will enable students to try an instrument over the course of a year.
