50 Year Anniversary

Published on 16th Jul 2019 in School News | Worship

Yesterday was a historic day for St Aidan’s as the official opening ceremony of the school was exactly 50 years ago this very day. It was fitting, therefore, that this was the evening we chose to hold our annual Service for the Newly Confirmed, always a significant event for us as a church school. We were delighted that for this special service Bishop Helen-Ann Hartley, Bishop of Ripon, was able to join us. As well as speaking of the wisdom that we should pray for on our ongoing journeys of faith, Bishop Helen-Ann also unveiled a new plaque at the entrance to the school and dedicated the student-made Jubilee mural, now on display in the chapel. After the service Mr Wood cut the first slice of a special Jubilee cake, marking the end of our 50th Anniversary Celebrations! What a year it’s been!
