WECare Cake Sale for Annabel
This morning, Year 11 students ran a cake sale to raise money for the charity WECare, a Sri Lankan Charity working with vulnerable animals. This was organised in memory of Annabel Wright.
Year 12 Photography
It’s been a busy week in the Photography department! Year 12 Photographers have been discussing ‘What is a Portrait?’ and debate the Taylor Wessing Portraiture prize shortlist before selecting their winners.
Year 8 German Project
Year 8 German classes have recently been creating a ‘My Alien Family’ project – they look fantastic!
ESU Mace Debating Success
Well done to the debating team of Dan Alcock, Owen Spafford, and Alfie Tyrrell, who were worthy winners in the second round of the ESU Mace competition at Easingwold School on Tuesday evening. All three speakers were commended by the judges for their assured performances. They now head to the NE Regional Finals in February.
Holocaust Memorial Day
Our Year 12 students had an assembly to mark Holocaust Memorial Day which was yesterday, 27th January.
Sixth Form Information Evening 2020

Year 7 Disco 2020

Oxbridge Offers 2020 – St Aidan’s and St John Fisher Associated Sixth Form
The Associated 6th Form is delighted to announce that twelve students have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge for September 2020. Four students have received offers from Oxford and a further eight have offers from Cambridge.
Year 7 Art
7LS and 7LQ Art groups have been working on a Colour Wheel Challenge! 20 minutes, no pencil, no ruler and no talking! Just paint and pointing to create a fully blended colour wheel.
Year 9 Careers
Over the last few weeks Year 9 have been enjoying careers talks about their GCSE options! These options presentations are continuing over the coming weeks so they are well informed before they make their choices.
Jazz Night
On Saturday 8th February 2020, St Aidan’s School will be hosting a Jazz Night in Constance Green Hall, from 7.30pm. There will be performances from Swing Band, SAJE, Girls’ Choir, Year 9 Dancers and BSB (Beyond Swing Band – St Aidan’s Alumni).
Musical Success
Matilda Tasker, Year 10 student, will be performing in Harrogate Phoenix Players production of ‘Fame’! The show is running from Thursday 6th February until Saturday 8th February at Harrogate Theatre. Congratulations to Matilda!
Sixth Form Musical Achievement
Year 12 student, Niamh Robinson Wakefield performed at the Royal Albert Hall last month as a backing soprano for Katherine Jenkins – a fantastic achievement and experience.
