On 23rd October, we welcomed our Year 11 students (from 2018-2019) academic year to receive their GCSE certificates. All students were recognised for their achievements as well as individuals in each subject area.
On Tuesday 22nd October we held our lower school sports awards evening. Students from current Year 8,9,10 were awarded medals for contributions to school sports over the last academic year.
On Monday 21st October, our Year 12 Geographers spent the day in Bridlington, on the East Coast, as part of their A Level Geography field work.
We had a fantastic Open Day this year and it was lovely to meet so many students and families visiting school.
Congratulations to the Year 9 Netball A team on a great display of netball against a very strong South Hunsley on Monday 21st October. The score was 17-12, a win for St Aidan’s. Well done girls!
Our Autumn Senior Music Concert will take place on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm in Constance Green Hall. Come along and enjoy performances from Swing Band, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Girls’ Choir and Chamber Choir. Tickets are £6 (£3 concession) each and are available from Reception or on the door.
Jessica Hardesty Dean, Year 10 student, came 2nd in the National Clout Archery competition on Saturday 19th October, receiving a Silver medal. The weekend of Saturday 26th October, Jess will compete in Penrith where she will shoot her first indoor competition using a Longbow and shooting against adults. Congratulations to Jess on this achievement!

On 20th November we’re welcoming the author Chris Bradford to school to show us some of his hot shot martial arts moves and tell us all about what inspired him to write his series of best-selling books, “Young Samurai”.

This week, our Sri Lankan visitors have had a wonderful time in London seeing the sites, watching a west end show (Mamma Mia!) and visiting the shops.
Students, staff and parents had a wonderful evening at this year’s Harvest Festival on Wednesday 9th October.
Half of our Year 9 students have headed to Malham today to complete Geography fieldwork!

Our Sri Lankan visitors are having a fantastic time visiting their St Aidan’s exchange partners. Last week they visited the Mayor, travelled to Edinburgh and Fountains Abbey, as well as enjoying time in school with their exchange partners. They have more exciting activities planned for the week ahead!
Our Gold Duke of Edinburgh students had a fantastic time this weekend in the Lake District!
