Athletics News
Both boys’ and girls’ junior teams have qualified for the English Schools’ Cup National Finals by winning the North East Regional Final. This year the national finals are in Chelmsford, Essex. Well done to the Year 7 and 8 athletes in the teams.

Year 10 Trips Update
Our Year 10 students are having a fantastic time on their end of year trips this week.
Physics Award
Nina Brooksbank, Year 10 student, received The Ogden Trust’s School Physicist of the Year (SPOTY) award at the University of Leeds. The award was presented by Dr Philippa Shepley, Experimental Officer from the Sir Henry Royce Institute at the University of Leeds, and Charley Phillips, Programme Officer from the Ogden Trust.
Year 11 Prom
Last night our wonderful Year 11 students enjoyed their Prom in Constance Green Hall. A fabulous night was had by all, with huge thanks to Mrs Rosser and her team, as well as staff and parents for their support.

Athletics Achievement
Jess Thompson, Year 9 student, has been selected for the English Schools Athletics Championships alongside also being asked to represent Yorkshire in an Inter-Counties Athletics event on Sunday 7th July. Congratulations to Jess on this fantastic achievement!
Year 12 Geography Field Trip
Our Year 12 Geographers enjoyed a field trip to the Formby Coastline yesterday, as part of their Physical Geography fieldwork.
Year 9 Trips Week
Our Year 9 students had a wonderful time on all the trips last week. They were lucky enough to travel to Sorrento, Amsterdam, Rhineland, Berlin or Valkenburg!

Year 8 Physics Olympiad
Recently our Year 8 students have competed in the annual Physics Olympiad at St Peter’s School, York. Our team came 8th out of 28 other schools, which is a fantastic achievement. Congratulations to our Physicists: Amrita Roney, Kezia Jackson, Laurie Miller and Olivia Parris.
Year 9 Activity Week
Year 9 have been enjoying a fantastic activity week at school. They have a timetable of fun activities including cooking, drama, dodgeball, origami, making willow lanterns, stream biology and the list goes on….
Summer Concert
Our Summer Concert takes place next Wednesday 19th June, 7pm in Constance Green Hall. Adult tickets are £6, Children are free. Tickets can be purchased at Reception or on the door. You can enjoy performances from Junior Band, Junior Choir, SAJE, World Music Group, String Ensemble and APE. We look forward to seeing you there!
