Athletics Results
All 4 athletics teams, Under 13 and Under 15, boys and girls, have qualified for the North East England region final on Wednesday 19th June in Hull. They all placed in the top 8 schools in the region. Congratulations to all involved!

Year 13 Leavers
On Thursday 16th May we say goodbye to our Associated Sixth Form Year 13 students. We wish them luck in all their examinations and the exciting future that lies ahead.

FOSA Event – Three Peaks Challenge
On Saturday 18th May 2019 Friends of St Aidan’s (FOSA) are tackling the beautiful Yorkshire Three Peaks. We will be taking in the big hills of PenYGhent, Whernside, and Ingleborough in under 12 hours. Fund raising and training is well underway but we need all the support we can get.
Jubilee Weekend
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating the 50th year of St Aidan’s CofE School. Here are some photos of the rehearsals, the Jubilee Reunion Event, the Jubilee Celebration and the Ripon Cathedral Service of Thanksgiving. Thank you to everyone who supported these events, staff, students, parents, Cathedral staff and of course our fantastic Alumni!
Spotlight Launch
St. Aidan’s ever popular KS3 show, Spotlight, will be returning for its 10th year this summer! We will be celebrating the anniversary with a spectacular performance at the Royal Hall on Tuesday 2nd July. Please see the Music or Dance department for further information.
Synchronised Swimming Success
Ellie Crabtree, Year 10 student, competed with Leeds Synchro at the Synchronised Swimming British National Championships this weekend. She was swimming as a member of the Leeds Senior Team she won three team Bronze National medals. Congratulations to Ellie on this achievement.

Inter-form Football
We has a fantastic couple of weeks of Inter-form Sport before Easter, with with Years 7-9 students participating in tournaments of Netball, Hockey, Basketball and Football. On Thursday, Year 8 competed in Inter-form Football with Form 8G taking the winning title! Well done to all staff and students who were involved.
Year 10 Football
Congratulations to all of the boys who have played so well for the Year 10 Football team so far this season. In a thrilling semi-final, the boys beat Rossett School to reach the North Yorkshire Cup Final, a trophy they won last year. The final was played at Whitby Town’s ground against a strong and athletic Tadcaster Grammar School. On this occasion, our boys came out second best as we went down to a 2-0 defeat!
European Athletics Achievement
Pagen Spooner, Year 13 student, was selected to represent the England Team at a European Athletics Event in the Czech Republic on Saturday 6th April. She raced against International Athletes from across Europe in the 10km Race walk event.
