Did you know you should boil your bagels before baking?
Sixth Form students studying Food Science and Nutrition had an amazing time at Swinton Park Spa Hotel on Wednesday 6th March, researching for their exam coursework. Part of their brief is to design a menu suitable for serving at a Health Spa and they could not have had a more inspirational head start to the project. They learnt to cook sourdough bagels in the beautiful Swinton Park Cookery School, toured the kitchen garden to hear that it produces 500k of raspberries a year, along with a huge variety of other seasonal produce. Student ended up in the Terrace Restaurant with the opportunity to quiz chef Louis about healthy cooking methods and their ‘land to plate’ philosophy. A truly motivational extra-curricular experience for our Sixth Form students.
