The Science Status section of the St Aidan's website is designed to give our extended community some background information about this DfES initiative and more details about how having science status will affect both St Aidan's and our wider "family" of schools included in the four year programme.
The mission statement for the St Aidan's Science Status sets out our committed aims for the programme:-
"Science Status will enable St. Aidan's Church of England High School to:
- Raise the standard of teaching and learning and therefore standards of achievement across the whole curriculum and particularly in science and maths at all levels of ability.
- Further raise interest, enthusiasm and take-up in all science and maths subjects and post 16 science and maths courses in an ethos of exciting learning.
- Extend the range of educational opportunities available to all members of St. Aidan's, the partner schools and the wider community, including businesses."
