Science week 2007

This year we are celebrating National Science & Engineering Week by having a variety of events spread over two weeks. The main theme of our activities is flight. The activities include:

Saturn

Friday 9th March - Star Dome

An inflatable star dome is set up in Constance Green Hall. This showed the night sky and other space phenomena.

Inst of Metals
Tuesday 12th March - The Institute of Metals
Institute of Biology
Wednesday 14th March - The Institute of Biology will be gving a lecture in Constance Green Hall

Monday 19th March - The Starchaser Rocket will be set up in the car park. Pupils will be given a presentation of the rocket followed by the chance to observe it at close quarters.

Bird of Prey

Tuesday 20th March - Birds of Prey from Thorpe Perrow will be giving two displays in school. Pupils will have the opportunity to see the birds close up.

Wednesday 21st March - A model aircraft display will be given by Mr B James, runner-up in the British Championships.

Thursday 22nd March - A series of 'fun' science experiments will be set up in the Science labs at lunchtime.
Friday 23rd March - An anti gravity club will be launched and pupils will have a chance to fly kites and model planes.
