National School Sports Achievement
We are delighted to share with you that the School Sport Magazine (which was published last week) has listed St. Aidan’s School as the 29th top sporting state school in the country. It is fantastic that the efforts of students and PE staff (both inside and outside the department) have been recognised in the School Sport Magazine, which each year collates information relating to the top achievements in state schools across the country in 20 sports and more than 120 different national competitions. This is the 3rd consecutive year that St Aidan’s has featured in the top 100 state schools in the country being 57th two years ago and 56th last year.
This year statistics and listings published in the magazine means that the school is in the top 1% of schools in the country.
Mr John Wood, Headmaster commented, ‘Many congratulations to all who work within the department or support the department in any way and to the students for all their efforts across a huge variety of sports. Extra-curricular activities add so much to the all round education we aim to offer at St Aidan’s and they, alongside the academic achievements, are a testament to what a special school this is and to the quality and dedication of all people working in every area of the school’.
