St Aidan’s Church of England High School, St John Fisher Catholic High School and the Associated Sixth Form are the first schools in the UK to be awarded the National Quality Standard in Careers Education, Information Advice and Guidance. Both schools are delighted to receive this award from C&K Careers in recognition of the work the Careers Departments do with all their students. The report sent from the assessors commended the enormous number of working links the school has with employers, universities and colleges, training organisations and support agencies. They also mentioned the effective enterprise activities, the availability of work experience and the commitment and professionalism of the dedicated careers team. The careers departments at both schools are highly supported by the senior management and governing bodies and this was also praised by the assessors. A representative from C&K Careers Jill Ellis, sent in the official notification on the 9th March congratulating the careers teams for being awarded the standard and for putting a lot of work into the process.
