admissions

The DCSF (Department for Children, Schools & Families) has drawn up a new Admissions Code.  Under the terms of the Code schools are no longer able to use community service, membership of the uniformed organisations or support for charity as over-subscription criteria.  We have therefore had to make significant changes to the over-subscription criteria for St. Aidan’s for September 2009.  Ideally we would have wished to give prospective parents longer notice, but North Yorkshire County Council have made it clear they would raise objections if we used our current long established criteria in 2009.  We apologise therefore for any inconvenience caused and trust that the new system can be introduced as smoothly as possible.  In broad terms, the Governors can only use criteria connected with religious practice and worship, sibling connections in school and geographical proximity.

Year 7 Admissions 2009

The information open evenings for September 2009 intake will be held on 7th and 9th October at 7.30pm which are for parents. The open day, to which children are also welcome, will be held on Saturday 11th October at. 1.30pm. Click on the links below:
