SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSixteen former St. Aidan’s students travelled down to London on the 26th of February to be presented with the highly prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award at St. James’s Palace.

The students started the scheme in Year 12 and continued until they had completed their volunteering, skill, physical, residential and, of course, their expedition. The students were very fortunate to speak to His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh who was surprised as to how many people had completed the Gold Award under one centre, St Aidan’s.

The awards themselves were presented by actress Emma Samms famous for her role in the 80s show “Dynasty”. All of the students had a brilliant time and it was a fantastic occasion to celebrate a great achievement.
