GCSE Religious studies

There are four options in Religious Studies, all of equal status and all make very similar demands. Each of the options has two sections, one of which is a study of Christian ethics.

  1. The Christian Life and the Gospel (Mark's Gospel) + Contemporary issues in Christian perspective. (This is an AQA examination and it includes coursework)
  2. Christian Philosophy + Christian Ethics (this is an OCR examination and it does not have coursework)
  3. Christian Philosophy including a study of Christian Worship and Christian Ethics (this is an OCR examination and it does not have coursework)
  4. Aspects of Islam + Christian ethics (this is an OCR examination and it does not have coursework)

The content of the AQA Contemporary Issues and the OCR Christian ethics is very similar and provides important elements of Citizenship education at KS4.
