We follow the AQA Specification A. For further details see www.aqa.org.uk.
This year we have over 200 students taking psychology; there are 7 Psychology groups in year 12 and 5 in year 13.
Student contact time is 5 hours per week, with each group having one teacher for three of those lessons and the other teacher for two. Most of the lessons are held in three dedicated classrooms where resources are plentiful and available to students who wish to use them.
Psychology staff are fully accessible to students outside of lesson times and students are encouraged to ask any member of the department for help if their own teacher is not available.
The department has a strong commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning. We prepare in-house teaching materials, and share materials and good practice.
