Exam Board & Syllabus: AQA Syllabus C
Course Outline:
Students follow an enquiry based approach through a variety of teaching methods - note-taking, discussions, groupwork, role play, presentations, IT and personal research. Fieldwork is an essential par of the course and the GCSE investigation will allow students to investigate an argument, problem or issue.
In addition to coursework the following topics will be studied during the two year course:

Assessment
Two tiers of assessment are available:
Foundation - Grades C - G; Higher - Grades A* - D
The assessment is in three parts:

25% based on a fieldwork investigation at a local scale

| Paper 1 |
25% a decision making exercise comprising a series of compulsory structured questions

| Paper 2 |
50% 3 structured questions on the 3 sections of the subject content |
By the end of the course...
Students will develop an awareness of the ways in which people interact with their environments and appreciate the opportunities, challenges and constraints that face people in different ways.
