Year 9 London Theatre Tour
This theatre tour is aimed at prospective GCSE Drama students and is a wonderful opportunity to experience top quality theatre and to work with professionals in the field of Performing Arts. The tour offers a very full itinerary with three days in London's West End where top shows are supported with acting, dance or voice sessions with some of the cast members. The week concludes in school with two days of practical workshops based on the productions seen.
Theatre Trips
Theatre visits are frequent. We support our local theatre but equally enjoy visits to a wide range of regional theatres and the West End. The objective is to offer as many experiences of different theatrical styles as possible.
School Productions
We have an impressive record of productions. In recent years pupils from all years have treated audiences to the delights of The Wind in the Willows, The Comedy of Errors, My Fair Lady, A Christmas Carol, and Me & My Girl, to name but a few.
This year the production was West Side Story and ran from Tuesday 22nd to Saturday 26th November. It was hugely successful with each night's performance completely sold out. |

Community Theatre
Launched in 2000, the Community Theatre Project has become a highlight of the school year for all those involved. Year 12 Theatre Studies students have enjoyed great acclaim through their performances and workshops for local primary schools.
| We are justifiably proud of all the achievements within the Drama Department. However, 2003 - 04 was a particularly amazing year. Pupils in year 9, 10 and 11 took part in the RSC's Shakespeare Festival, performing an abridged version of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. Such was the success of the performance that the cast were invited to perform once more in the gala night at the Wyndhams Theatre in London's West End and a selected extract at 10 Downing Street for Cherie Blair and Laura Bush, also for HRH Prince Charles at the Hackney Empire - what a year! |
