Areas of Study
You will be required to work in at least two of the following areas of art, craft and design. You may explore overlapping areas and combinations of areas.
- Fine Art
- Graphic Design
- Textiles
- Three Dimensional Design
- Photography
Skills & Techniques
You will be expected to demonstrate skills and will work in at least two areas from the following:
- Fine Art: drawing; painting; printmaking; sculpture; photography; film; television and video
- Graphic Design: computer graphics; illustration; advertising; film; television and video
- Textiles: printed fabrics; domestic textiles; constructed textiles; fashion
- Three-Dimensional Design: ceramics; sculpture; interior, product or environmental design; body ornament
- Photography: portraiture, documentary or photo journalism; landscape or still life; experimental imagery
Knowledge & Understanding
You must show knowledge and understanding of:
- how ideas, feelings and meanings can be conveyed and interpreted in images and artefacts created in the context of your chosen areas of study;
- the historical and contemporary developments and different styles and genres in your chosen areas of study;
- how images and artefacts relate to social, environmental, cultural and/or ethical contexts, and to the time and place in which they were created;
- continuity and change in different styles, genres and traditions relevant to your chosen areas of study
