During the summer term of Year 12, students are taken to the Northumberland coastline to study zonation.
They set up a transect and study the organisms found in a series of quadrats, from the slash zone down to the lower shore.
Back at school IT facilties are used to help them analyse their results. Students can produce height profiles and Kite diagrams. All of this work is used within Module 5 Ecology in Year 13. |
