KS4 Biology investigations

In Year 10 pupils are given the opportunity to investigate in more detail a particular area of Biology. These areas include:

  • Pulse rate and exercise
  • Osmosis in potato cells
  • Respiration in maggots

Pupils plan their individual investigations, obtain their own evidence, form scientific conclusions and evaluate their procedure and results.

A formal written account is submitted at the end of Year 10. This is used as evidence for SCI assessment.
