KS3 Religious Studies Activities

Year 7 Visit to Christ Church

The annual visit to Christ Church takes place in the Autumn term. Christ Church is our local parish church and we have long established links. The visit is always enjoyable, there are a number of activities – looking around the Church, of course, but also looking and the fine array of vestments and trying some on, looking at the environment in which the Church is set and considering the many aspects of the work of the Church in the local community.

Year 8 World Religions Discovery Day

All Year 8 students enjoy a visit to three exciting and very different places in of worship in Bradford. Organised with the assistance of the Bradford Interfaith Centre, students visit a Mosque and Mandir and a Gurdwara. They enjoy being able to meet people of different faiths and cultures, asking them questions, trying on special clothes and listening to inspiring stories and music. It is a really enjoyable and very educational trip that supports our aim to be always celebrate diversity and learn about the communities around us.

Visiting speakers

Where possible, we invite speakers in to share their experiences with our students. Recent visitors have been representatives from the Harrogate Homeless Shelter, local Vicars (and the occasional Bishop), Betty’s and Taylors of Harrogate and the Taize community.
