Year 9 have been enjoying a fantastic activity week at school. They have a timetable of fun activities including cooking, drama, dodgeball, origami, making willow lanterns, stream biology and the list goes on….

It’s the final day of our Australian Exchange and the students have all enjoyed a hot chocolate and cake party this break time. What a fabulous way to end a fantastic trip of a lifetime. We wish all our exchange students all the very best and a safe trip back home.

On Saturday 18th May 2019 Friends of St Aidan’s (FOSA) are tackling the beautiful Yorkshire Three Peaks. We will be taking in the big hills of PenYGhent, Whernside, and Ingleborough in under 12 hours. Fund raising and training is well underway but we need all the support we can get.
St. Aidan’s ever popular KS3 show, Spotlight, will be returning for its 10th year this summer! We will be celebrating the anniversary with a spectacular performance at the Royal Hall on Tuesday 2nd July. Please see the Music or Dance department for further information.
On Wednesday 27th March, a small team of English students and staff travelled to Queen Mary’s School, Topcliffe for ‘Battle of the Books’, the Literature Competition for Years 9 and 10.
Cassidy Weidemann, Year 9 student, was one of four cadets from 886 Squadron Ripon, to be invited to a historic occasion to remember and commemorate a World War I unveiling ceremony at Catterick Garrison by the Garrison Commander on the 11th December 2018.
Our Under 16 Boys have won the England Squash National Plate finals in Nottingham. Congratulations to the team!
In March, Our Year 9 students travelled to Australia to spend 3 weeks with their exchange partners from Carey Baptist Grammar School. They had a fantastic trip! More details to follow soon…
Over 65 employers, universities, colleges and training providers attended our annual Careers Evening in Constance Green Hall on Thursday 14th March. This was a fantastic event – thank you to all staff, students and parents who supported this evening.
We were delighted to host a visit by the BBC on Friday 22nd February, when they talked to all Year 9 students about career opportunities in the creative industries.
The launch of the Music Association’s new Start the Music Initiative, to provide free lessons and free instruments on loan to St Aidan’s students, was a great success last night!
Last week we held a wonderful Valentines Jazz Evening in Constance Green Hall.
